Happy One Year Anniversary

That’s right, today is the one year anniversary of Daniel Dickey Dot Com! I started this blog a year ago today as a personal documentation and writing alternative from screenplays and theatrical plays. My first month I averaged 18-24 readers a day (12 of the daily views were from me). Today I average anywhere from 250-550 daily readers and my blog has gone from the 17 million most viewed website to 1.2 million. I’ve changed the name multiple times, but stuck with The Virtual Handjob, until a couple moths ago when I decided I would keep the title My Life In Comedy. That way I’m free to talk about anything and everything in my life as long as I keep a random comedic spin on it.

Sometimes I write odd stories about aliens and mummies, sometimes I write observational pieces about naked men in the subway, and sometimes I just post pictures of animals having sex. Hopefully you find my blogs to be entertaining. I write them in hopes that you laugh, as my overall goal on this site and in life is to make people smile. Know that many of the pieces are written in character and not as me (So if you ever read one and thought, ‘You little dickhead’…it wasn’t me…probably).

I wrote 120 blogs in the past year and some were funnier than others (Judd Apatow wrote Knocked up and 40 Year Old Virgin, but he also wrote Fun with Dick and Jane and Don’t mess with the Zohan). Know that I try to post as often as possible and am always trying to think of something new and inventive to talk about. Also I do apologize because I know sometimes my grammar can run a muck (I usually write in a nonstop ramble and am on to something new by the time I post it). I’m always striving for comedic success and truly want to thank you for consistent reading. Whether your bored, killing time a work, or just want to get your rocks off, I’m happy to have you reading! I enjoy everyone’s comments, even the hate filled ones. I try to respond to all of them, as they all, good and bad, make me laugh.
