As some of you might know… I sometimes go around New York giving away free things (whistles, socks, inflatable shoes, whatever). Well now that I’ve decided I’m only working three days a week and doing what I love with my other days, I have a lot more time to give away free things. Yesterday I decided the city of New York needed a lot more smiles… what better way to make people smile than with cookies! I was inspired by a friend of mine, who goes around making fantastic vegan cookies (and friends)… all while hanging out on a very awesome inflatable couch.
I bought me a batch of the finest cookie batter I could afford and headed right to my kitchen, ready to bake some deliciousness. Unfortunately I now live in Bushwich, and my pre-world war II oven didn’t work. Change of plans… I went to the house of my favorite New York friend (Alice) and with her help (she buttered the pan while I played with the batter. We baked too), I baked some of the finest f-ing cookies in the world… well at least in Brooklyn and lower Manhattan. With about 200 little chocolate chipped delights I headed out to Union Square, ready to change the world one cookie at a time.
Originally I got a lot of awkward stares and people questioning whether there was anthrax in the cookies (this is why I brought Alice. If I was by myself I figured people would think the terrorist were resorting to killing Americans via baked goods. BUT I had a cute red head in a very sexy dress reassuring everyone these cookies were made with love, not babies). Within half an hour everyone in Union Square was hanging by the cookie guy. High school girls were passing out my free cookies fliers, homeless men were grabbing them by the handful, and Asian tourists kept taking pictures of me. When people asked why I was giving them out I told them I wanted people to smile more… and I just so happened to be giving out free smiles at DanielDickey.com.
The free cookie day was such a success I actually ran out within an hour of being there. Good thing I had a back up.

Danny,
I am re-reading your blog at work bc I needed a little chuckle and your website is strangely the only thing not blocked. You are High-LaRiOuS- go ahead bask in it- I finally said it…
Rofl you’re so damn funny. When I come up to NY in the winter I’ll be looking for you out there with free cookies!
This post was pretty sweet, especially the ending part about wanting to make people smile.
That being said, I don’t think i would of taken any lol.
We don’t trust strangers like that in NY.
The other day a homeless man was begging for food on the train and my uncle offered him a bag of burger king food.
The homeless man looks at my uncle and says no thank you, i don’t know if you poisoned it.
Why the fluff would my uncle buy burger king and poison it to kill homeless people lmao.
Were a crazy city you got lucky and left before the crazy broke loose.
