I love ghetto music, and I can’t go another day without proclaiming my my passion for hood-happy rap songs. There’s something that comes over my suburban Jewish body when it hears a urban ghetto person grunt out words like, “Ughhh” “Yeahh” and “Ruffff”. Not to be misconstrued, I’m not huge on ghetto people–but the music that very very ghetto people make… I l.o.v.e. that shit.

Like any song that speaks about eating bologna, fighting people for hubcaps, and having six kids before they’re fourteen, is pretty much the anthem to my life. Given, my life is drastically different than someone who would eat bologna, but when I hear their grimmy voices rap about it, for a moment we are equals. We’re both bologna eating homeys, just viben’ to the beats and doing gangster shit (not really sure what gangster shit is, but I do plan to Google it after I write this).

I also like songs where extremely ghetto black girls rap about their weaves and/or other hood-rat paraphernalia. It’s not that I wouldn’t listen to a white girl or Spanish girl rap about weaves, but black girls sound so much better. They’re voices are all like, “Oh na trick! What you know bout this weave right here?” Compare Trina’s voice to Ke$ha’s. Now tell me that you’d rather listen to whitey? No comparison, ghetto is great.

Either way, this is the song that made me write this blog. It’s so hard.
